i've told every person i know that visits new york city to try and grab a reservation at shiki, and have been there twice myself (and now implore anyone out there, debating if they should give it a shot, to indeed give it a shot). not only is this such a good deal (starting at $65 for 12 pieces), but all of the ingredients used are so high quality, to the point that it's a little unbelievable that it is such an affordable omakase option compared to others in the city. the restaurant itself is small, with ~12 seats, but it doesn't feel cramped at all. just enough space for you to have your own experience, but also can easily engage with other patrons! the staff, especially the chefs that are hard at work to complete each of the 12+ pieces of sushi, are so sweet and attentive. + they are super accommodating when it comes to food allergies and preferences and ask if you'd like any adjustments to their preset menu. the most recent time i visited, the chef noticed my friend is left-handed and switched up how he was placing the sushi on her dish so it was easier for her to pick up. i think that attention to detail speaks to their work, and their desire for you to truly have a high-quality & valuable experience within the hour. i could not recommend shiki omakase enough!

Had my first omakase experience here. We got the 12 course omakase for $65 and it was so worth it! Everything was so fresh and delicious. My favorites were the wagyu and the toro with caviar. The service was great and the restaurant was so cute and clean. Highly recommend coming in for a great omakase experience!

Great service, great food. The waitresses were very attentive but I would've expected a little more fancy pitchers for water considering the cost of the experience. Worth a visit
